Graphic recording is a visual note-taking system. The recorder, or “scribe”, is situated in the room in an area visible to the participants and takes visual notes on a large (approximately 4’ x 8’) sheet of paper with markers. Using images, colors and keywords, I am able to distill the content of the meeting real-time, which keeps the participants actively engaged. The end result is a visual representation of what went on in the session that is meaningful to the people present, a useful starting point for future sessions, and a fun informative handout that can be shared with the participants later. The beauty and power of this technique is in the moment of the live capture of the information.
